Carlos Moreira is the Founder Chairman CEO of WISeKey.
Under Carlos’ leadership, WISekey’s mission has been to continually advance and improve Internet Trust, Cybersecurity and Internet of things, and to make it easier and more secure for people to use the Internet. The company is committed to a long-term view, reflected in its industry-leading M&A, investment in research and development each year.
Carlos served before founding WISeKey as United Nations Expert on CyberSecurity and Trust Models. He served during 17 years as UN Expert for many leading organizations of the United Nations System including ILO, UN, UNCTAD, ITC/WTO, World Bank, UNDP, ESCAP (83-99). He is recognized worldwide as an Internet Pioneer and has an unique profile, which combines extensive high level international diplomacy experience and emerging technologies expertise, has positioned him as a distinctive authority, thought leader, and entrepreneurial force in today’s digital world where the acquisition and trusted protection of Identity, Trust and Security has become an essential step for citizens and entities across the globe.
Carlos left the United Nations in 1998 to found and devote his energies to WISeKey, a company he had begun in 1999. Guided by a belief that the Internet needs to be safe and universal and a tool for prosperity, he began developing technologies to protect the Internet. Carlos’ foresight and his vision for personal computing have been central to the success of WISeKey.
Carlos is still involved in many non for profit and philanthropic activities as Founder and SG International Organization for Secure Electronic Transactions IOSET OISTE.org. Founding Member of the “Comité de Pilotage Project E-Voting” of the Geneva Government, Member of the UN Global Compact, Member of the WEF Global Agenda Council. Founding Member WEF Global Growth Companies 2007. WEF New Champion 2007 to 2016, Vice Chair WEF Agenda Council on Illicit Trade 12/15, Member of the 14-16 Selection Committee for Europe for the WEF Growth Companies. Founder of the Geneva Security Forum. Member the WEF Global Agenda Council on the Future of IT Software & Services 2014-16 . Member of the New York Forum.

He was Adjunct Professor of the Graduate School of Engineering RMIT Australia (95/99) and Head of the Trade Efficiency Lab at the Graduate School of Engineering at RMIT.
He is also very focus and active in disruptive DeepTech crypto technologies, AI, Blockchain/ Crypto Currencies, IoT and Cybersecurity . He is also very much involved in financial actives related to M&A , Fundraising, IPOs , Listed companies and was awarded the M&A Award 2017 Best EU acquisition for his acquisition of VaultIC semiconductors company in 2016. He listed WISeKey on the Swiss Stock Exchange in 2016.
John O'Hara
Board Member and Chief Financial Officer
John O’Hara, a Chartered Accountant, serves as Chief Financial Officer of WISeKey as of July 2024. He also currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of SEALSQ, WISeKey’s semiconductor company. Prior to these roles, Mr. O’Hara was International Controller for WISeKey from 2018 to 2023. Mr. O’Hara has over 20 years’ experience in financial and accounting roles across several sectors. Mr. O’Hara has worked in the professional services, leisure and restaurant industries for companies such as Marsh & McLennan Companies, Deloitte, Yum! Restaurants International and Chelsea FC plc, in finance management positions, specializing in Controllership, Financial Planning & Analysis, Finance Transformation and Sarbanes Oxley. He qualified in accountancy with Grant Thornton in the UK. In addition to his chartered accountancy qualification (FCA) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), UK, Mr. O’Hara holds a BA in Economics from Durham University, UK.

Mr. Ward, a Chartered Management Accountant, served as Chief Financial Officer of WISeKey from 2012 to 2024. He has significant international experience in the IT, FMCG, Retail/Distribution, Medical Equipment and Plastics industries, having worked in companies such as ITT, General Electric and Iomega, both in Field & H.Q. locations. He has operated for many years at Executive Staff (Board) level in International, multi-cultural environments. He has in-depth experience in Change Management, Process Improvement, Business Integration & Restructuring as well as extensive knowledge of International Tax, Statutory and US GAAP reporting and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. He has a BA with honors in Business Administration from Wolverhampton University, U.K.

María Pía Aqueveque Jabbaz
Board Member
María Pía Aqueveque Jabbaz is an advisor to public and private organisations on the implementation of blockchain technology. Bloomberg Línea named her as one of the Crypto Leaders in Latin America and she has also received distinctions in Spain and Switzerland.
Ms. Aqueveque is the CEO and founder of Maqueveq & Co, strategic and corporate advisory on digital asset investments and decentralized finance (DeFi) projects. Ms. Aqueveque is a former Board Member of Olidata S.p.A (Italy) and former alternate board member at the pension fund administrator company AFP UNO (Chile). Since 2019, she leads the Chilean chapter of the 30% Club, global initiative focused on increasing women’s participation on the boards of major listed corporations. She is also a regular columnist at AméricaEconomía.
With an educational background in economics, public policy and financial markets, throughout her career Ms. Aqueveque has held consultancy positions for the World Bank, the Interamerican Development Bank and for the Central American Bank for Economic Integration were she led the “Consultancy to Support the Implementation of the Bitcoin Law” Team. She has collaborated with several institutions such as the Government of Chile, the Chilean Association of Mutual Funds, the magazine AméricaEconomía and the North American Chamber of Commerce in Chile.
Philippe Doubre

Mr. Doubre is a Swiss national who has held the position of President and Secretary General of the World Trade Centre (WTCA) Geneva since 1979. He is member of the board of the WTCA in New York and is a former Chairman of the WTCA Committee on Information and Communication. He is also President of the China Hub in Geneva and a permanent representative of the WTCA organizations to the UN in Geneva. He is currently President of the OISTE Foundation. Prior to this position, Mr. Doubre held several senior positions in the banking and finance industry including Vice President and General Cashier of American Express Paris, General Manager Overseas Development. Vice President of the Board and Chairman of the Audit & Finance Committee WISeKey.
Philippe Doubre has extensive experience and expertise with servicing international trade and determination of policies and new directions for facilitating international trade. He is a highly respected and well-recognized member of the international community as evidenced by his former position of Vice President of the American Centre Geneva.
Philippe Monnier
Board Member
Philippe D. Monnier is President of the Swiss International Society and the Wharton Club of Switzerland. He also serves on the boards of several companies, including WISeKey International Holding. Previous positions include Executive Director (CEO) of the Greater Geneva Bern area, Senior Vice President of the Schindler Group and Management Consultant at McKinsey. He also co-founded and managed three e-business start-ups in Switzerland and Japan.
Philippe’s studies include Civil Engineering (ITESM, Mexico), MBA (Wharton, USA), and Board Directorship (Harvard, USA). He is regularly featured in the Swiss and international press. Philippe, a Swiss and Mexican citizen, grew up in Japan, Mexico, and Switzerland; he has resided in seven other countries.
